What is Xenadrine Xtreme?
Xenadrine Xtreme claims to be a weight loss pill designed for women only; this is a claim made by so many weight loss pills but in reality it ends up more a marketing tool then anything else.
From our experience, just about every effective weight loss ingredient is usually effective with both genders. So don’t be fooled by the marketing. For the most part, most effective weight loss ingredients are uni-sex and don’t work better with one gender then the other. But let’s look at the ingredients that make Xenadrine Xtreme work.
Xenadrine Xtreme: from the inside
Xenadrine Xtreme contains an entire slew of weight loss ingredients. There’s almost too many to list but I’ll highlight just a couple of them.
The caffeine found in Green Tea is able to boost metabolism, increasing the rate at which the body burns fat. Green Tea is also rich in other antioxidants such as EGCG but it is important to realize that for Green Tea to really be effective it needs 400 mg per serving. That’s probably going to be a reach for Xenadrine Xtreme, as I don’t see the profile containing that much of it.
There is no documentation or studies done that show that Yohimbe encourages weight loss. There have been studies done that show that Yohimbe may have a negative side effect on nursing or pregnant women, people with high blood pressure or kidney disease. It is a strong stimulant that has been banned in Canada and Australia.
Caffeine Anhydrous is a particularly effective ingredient. It can really raise the rate at which your body burns fat, however, it is caffeine and any side effect associated with caffeine could be manifested.
Garcinia Cambogia, which contains Hydroxycitiric Acid and can act as an appetite suppressant, prohibit lipogenesis and lower the production of glycogen in the liver.
Some think Acai is some kind of miracle fruit; here’s the truth: Acai is just a good source of antioxidants and vitamins that are good for your health but is far from a miracle worker. The fruit is grown only in the Amazon rainforest of South America and for hundreds or maybe thousands of years, the indigenous people of the area have consumed the little berries.
It’s only been recently that the berry has gained global attention. According to recent media reports, it seems like Acai can heal everything from skin conditions to cancer. If that were true, it would mean that almost every single Brazilian would have perfect skin, a killer stomach and no cancer…False! So you can throw out the notion that Acai is a “miracle” and just accept it for what it is – a little berry that promotes a healthy body.
Too little, too late
From our perspective, the ingredient line-up, while good for the body, does little to support weight loss. I like the Caffeine Anhydrous as a supplement; it’s proven to improve thermogenics in the body. But I wonder if they’ve included enough of the stuff for it to be effective.
How much does Xenadrine Xtreme cost?
The price of Xenadrine Xtreme is going to cost about $60, which in our estimation is too much to pay for a pill that would deliver only mild results. You can buy much more effective fat burners for the same price, probably even cheaper.
The good
- Decent ingredients
- Well informed website
The bad
- Weak formula
- Vague return policy
- Potential for side effects
- Expensive
The way we see it
Xenadrine Xtreme is a well thought out pill but comes up a little flat in our book. There’s also the chance for a few adverse side effects, which also play into the equation. I feel that for $60, you’re overpaying for what this pill can truly deliver.
