PGN Nutrition TrimFat

Here’s the motto for PGN Nutrion TrimFat: “Keep the muscle…keep the fat.” Supposedly this pill allows women to not just burn the fat but also allows them to keep the muscle on as well.  Sounds reasonable right? I wish all fat burners would do that but I guess that’s asking too much considering many of their limitations.

According to Phat Girl Nutrition, the maker of the pill, PGN Nutrion TrimFat is designed to target a women’s greatest area for fat storage, namely the hips and thighs. Problem is, however, I don’t see much in the ingredient profile that tells me this should be exclusively for women. Am I missing something here?

Many of the common ingredients contained in PGN Nutrition’s TrimFat are the same ingredients you’ll also find in a number of similar weight loss pills. Our advice is to always be cognizant of these kinds of marketing techniques.

Don’t get us wrong, we’re not saying that PGN Nutrition TrimFat doesn’t have the ability to trim down the fat in the above-mentioned areas; however it’s really hard for a weight loss pill that’s been taken orally to only work in one specific area – or better put – to target one specific area.

There is no ingredient in the pill that somehow gets the fat burning potential to work extra hard in the thighs and hips. Sorry.

What are the Ingredients inside PGN Nutrition TrimFat?

The ingredient profile is very similar to what I’ve seen in other fat burners. By similar we’re not talking about the order of the ingredients or dosage amounts but instead we’re talking about the similarities of the ingredients.

Oh, the blends change slightly or the dosage amounts are tweaked but for the most part many of these same ingredients have been used – in all various types of forms – in other pills.

If you were to take the pill apart, you could almost categorize the product into three basic parts: Vitamins, TFI Blend and BerryLean Blend.

The vitamins included in the product are Vitamin B6, B5 and B12. The vitamins are meant to give it more of a natural approach but are proven to help boost the body’s energy levels. The results are more mild then other stimulants but there is proof that they do help improve the body’s metabolic rate.

The TFI Blend seems to be the key to the entire operation. Most of the “burn”, if you will, is going to come from the ingredients in this blend which includes Cayenne Pepper, USP, Caffeine, Hordinine HCL, Synephrine HCL, Vinpocetine and Yohimbine HCL.

Cayenne pepper, although not a super common weight loss ingredient, is a mild metabolism booster. Caffeine and Synephrine are both going to help improve the thermogenic burn rate in the body, much more then the Cayenne Pepper will.  Yohimbine also has mild fat burning abilities but might be better known as a natural aphrodisiac, so take that for what it’s worth.

The final blend, known as the BerryLean Blend, plays a less then significant role then maybe the other two. It contains an assorted collection of berry extracts designed to give the pill a natural feel. The ingredients are nice, but not super powerful.

That means PGN Nutrion TrimFat relies heavily upon caffeine and similar stimulants to get the job done. Be careful with these stimulant based pills. The caffeine contained inside could lead to unwanted side effects like nervousness, jitteriness, insomnia and so forth.

The way we see it

The product relies on solid ingredients for an above average result. It’s not our favorite fat burner, as you can see by our top listings on our home page but it’s far from the bottom. The pill has good intentions but falls short of being spectacular.
