SlimSignals

Life Extension SimSignals takes a unique approach to weight loss, one that I don’t see many companies take.  It’s sort of like an appetite suppressant only a little bit different.  They basically try to get rid of fat in 4 basic ways:

1)   Reverse a process they call leptin resistance. Over time they say the body builds up resistance to a hormone called leptin.  That’s significant because leptin plays an important roll in telling the mind that it is full.  SlimSignals wants to reverse that process so the mind stops craving food when liptin hormones tell is so.

2)   Increase Adiponectin. Large fat cells put out less adiponectin which is a critical hormone that helps support insulin and cardiovascular health.

3)   Inhibiting the fat converting enzyme. This process increases glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, a key enzyme that will reduce the amount of glucose or sugar that’s converted into body fat.

4)   Reduce carbohydrate absorption. For cabs to be fully absorbed they need to be broken down by the amylase enzyme. SlimSingals seeks to increase amylase which reduces the amount of starches absorbed as sugar in the digestive tracts.

Looking at the ingredient table, they list as the driving ingredient as Ingegra-lean. This supplement is supposed to really help reduce leptin resistance in the body thus helping it control one’s appetite.  They only list 150mg, however, and we’d like to see almost 10 times that in a product to be truly effective.  Unfortunately they fall a little short in that respect.

The also list a blend which contains ingredients like Xanthigen, Fucoxantin and pomegranate oil.  These are nice additions to the pill.  Fucoxanthin has the unique ability to go after abdominal fat. But they list this blend as only containing 300 mg per serving.  Again that seems to fall a little short.  See a trend happening here?

The Good

  • Decent ingredients
  • 1 year guarantee
  • Unique approach
  • No stimulants

The Bad

  • Limited amounts in each pill
  • Probably not strong enough to see great results
  • Mixed consumer reviews

The way we see it

The product contains a pretty good profile, but I just don’t think it’s strong enough to do much damage on the fat front. But the good news is that it’s pretty organic and it shouldn’t result in any crazy side effects. It’s got a solid 1 year review so it could be worth the risk.
