Chromium helps the body out in a number of different ways. It’s believed to help with depression, energy production, manage sugar levels—and most pertinent to our site—weight loss. Chromium is also supposed to help in treating insulin resistance and diabetes.
How does Chromium work?
It’s believed that chromium supplements will help transmit sugar, carbohydrates and glucose to muscle cells instead of fat cells. You can imagine what happens when all those sugars end up in fat cells. Another unique thing about chromium is it also acts as an appetite suppressant, allowing the mind to control hunger pains. Because of these benefits, numerous weight loss and dietary supplemental companies have targeted it as a means to aid their quest to create the perfect weight loss supplement.
These manufactures who include this supplement in their weight loss pills, would have you believe that the body isn’t getting near enough chromium in their diet and that unless you get your hands on some chromium supplements, the world is going to end. Obviously, that’s untrue. But there may be some truth to the body needing some type of chromium supplement. Normally chromium is introduced to the body through foods like meat, fish and breads. But when these animals or grains are produced the chromium levels are diluted or stripped from the food, keeping these important minerals out of the body. So to combat the problem these manufactures want you to believe that your body is in dire need of chromium to help reverse the weight you’re bound to gain.

The way we see it
It’s a solid weight loss ingredient. But it should be used as a supplemental ingredient, not used as the main ingredient. It’s works best in conjunction with other supplements. Anything more then that, you might be overpaying for it.
